摘 要:
“洞庭”之名早在先秦典籍中就时有出现，但是意义不完全一样，也不一定是同指一处。先秦两汉时期洞庭湖体还处于“渊”、“泽”的阶段。“尚相当窄小”。应该还不会有“洞庭湖”之称。随着后来环绕君山的所谓“洞府之庭”形成了一个大的湖泊，洞庭湖名逐渐形成并开始固定。洞庭湖之名在湖南的出现，则可能是先民在迁徙过程中发生了地名的移位。[著者文摘]

On the Name of Dongting Lake and Its Historical Chang

Abstract:
The name ＂ Dongting＂ had already appeared in the books of the pre-Qin Dynasty, but was of different meaning. During the pre-Qin and the Eastern and Western Han Dynasties, Dongting Lake used to be a abyss, rather small and narrow. So it couldnt be called Dongting lake. Later around Junshan, there formed a large lake. Hence the name ＂ Dongting Lake＂. Due to the migration of the early people to Hunan, they brought with them the name ＂Dongting Lake＂.[著者文摘]
