古埃及18王朝法老埃赫纳顿宗教改革同汉王朝王莽的世俗革命都是一场自上而下的反传统、逆潮流的变革,因为不符合当时所处的历史环境而失败了,但是改革的发起和失败,都不能归于一人之责,因为人的选择即是历史的选择,历史的选择即是文化的选择。社会变化发展的内在原因乃是文化。[著者文摘]
