悖论的构成与我们对某些语句可以自我指称的认定密切相关。认为某个语句可以自指，这是一回事，但事实上这个语句是否可能自指，则是另一回事；而语句自指事实上是不可能的。由此，便会获得对悖论的一种根本不同的理解。[著者文摘]

An Analysis of the Relationship Between Description and Proper Name

Abstract:
Concerning the relationship between proper name and description, the description theory holds that the sense of proper name is equal to description or cluster of description, and description indicates the designator of proper name. On the other hand, however, the causal naming theory argues that proper name has no sense but only designator. Both theories have their own unconquerable difficulties. The author of the present paper believes that, by adopting the spreading and extension of proper name as a starting point and investigating the issue from ontological and epistemological levels, we could explain the respective difficulties of the two theories and clarify the relationship between description and proper name.[著者文摘]
