On the Dissemination and Development of Tibetan Buddhism among OiratMongolians in Xinjiang

Abstract:
By referring to a large amount of literature in Chinese, Mongolian and Tibetan languages and research fruits by scholars, this paper systemically explicates the general situation of Tibetan Buddhism among Xinjiang Oirat Mongolians from the end of the Ming Dynasty to the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. It also describes in detail how Tibetan Buddhism was disseminating among Xinjiang Oirat Mongolians. At the same time, it explores how Xinjiang Oirat Mongolian alliances struggled on the Tibetan Plateau on the Dge-lugs-pa School of Tibetan Buddhism.[著者文摘]
