Abstract:

This article first reviewed the harmful effects of formaldehyde to the human body, and analyzed the origins of formaldehyde from wood-based panels. Then, the conventional ways that have been used to decrease the emission of formaldehyde from wood-based panels are summarized. Finally,a systematic solution for formaldehyde reduction, that was developed by the authors, was presented. The application of this system by three different companies verified it was an effective way to reduce formaldehyde. The panels from these companies meet the demands for level E1 or E2 with regard to formaldehyde emission.[著者文摘]
