Abstract:
This paper identifies the strength and weakness of three predominant schools of cultural psychology. These schools are the activity theory, the symbolic approach, and the individualistic approach.The activity theory explains psychology as rooted in practical cultural activities. The symbolic approach regards psychology as formed by collective symbols and concepts. The individualistic approach emphasizes the individual construction of psychological functions from collective symbols and artifacts.[著者文摘]
