Role of academic journals in preventing academic dishonesty

Abstract:
In view of the phenomenon that academic papers published in academic journals frequently contain plagiarized source material, multi - contribution and other academic dishonesty, this article analyses the characteristics of academic journals and suggests that editors of academic journals should become vigorous disciplinarians against academic dishonesty with careful reviewing all manuscripts submitted for publication. The institution of a strict profession system in article acceptance with prevention of academic dishonesty and individual responsibility should be established. Academic journals will become free of academic dishonesty only when an accountability and academic discipline established, which will lead to preventing academic corruption from the souree.[著者文摘]
