经典是中国传统文化的核心要素，它既属于中国，更属于世界。以《论语》为代表的中国经典从传入西方开始，便在世界范围产生了相当的影响。在所有译介中国经典的人物当中，理雅各是最具影响力的。其严谨的译介作风及至今日仍被业界所推崇，其《论语》译本至今仍被公认为标准译本，而其成功的经验及其译本的不足均值得我们深入研究。[著者文摘]

Abstract:
Being the core element of traditional Chinese culture, Confucian classics belong to China, and the whole world as well. They, with Confucian Analects being their representative, have been exerting their due influence in the whole world ever since their introduction into the West. Among all the translators, James Legge is undoubtedly the most influential character. His rigid style in work is still admired by scholars in the field, and his is considered the standard version. His experiences of success and shortcomings of his version deserve a thorough study.[著者文摘]
