Abstract:
British contemporary writer Justin Hill, famous for his writing about modern China, tries to represent an authentic China different from the previous clichés. But A Bend in the Yellow River is still filled with hegemonic discourse which stems from deep-rooted Orientalism manifestly and latently. His personal prejudice in the meantime severely restricts his focalization. The text as an example in the global context of the understanding and integrating heterogeneous Cultures shows its warning significance for readers and researchers both in the East and the West.[著者文摘]
