摘 要:
大陆学人一直认为夏志清的《中国现代小说史》存在偏见。其政治偏见（反共立场）确实存在，应该批判．但是其所谓“艺术偏见”还应该具体分析。夏志清用西方传统的批评理论评价中国现代文学，与左翼文学理论大相径庭．当然评价结果也迥然不同。但夏志清在《中国现代小说史》中体现的批评理论及方法值得我们借鉴。[著者文摘]

Abstract:
The mainland scholars have always maintained that there was a prejudice in Xia Zhiqing＇s History of Modern Chinese Fiction. Its political prejudice （anti-communist stance） does exist, which should be criticized, but its so-called ＂ artistic prejudice ＂ should also be specific analysed. Xia Zhiqing evaluated modem Chinese literature by western traditional critical theory, which was entirely different from the leftist literature, so the evaluation results were also totally different. But the critical theory and methods embodied in History of Modern Chinese Fiction should be used for reference.[著者文摘]
