Populations (ISSN 3042-4372) is an international, peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary open access journal focusing on the dynamics of fertility, mortality, and migration, their social and natural impacts, and the many drivers that influence these processes, including social, economic, cultural, political, environmental, and health determinants. We especially invite contributions that critically frame research problems as multi-scalar, involve human–environment interactions, and apply cross-disciplinary innovative approaches and solutions. We recognize that population dynamics—both causes and consequences—do not occur in isolation but are shaped by a myriad of interrelated forces. Our journal welcomes contributions that examine these forces from multiple angles—whether it be through empirical research, theoretical exploration, methodological advancements, or policy analysis.
