Barnelitterært forskningstidsskrift / Nordic Journal of ChildLit Aesthetics (BLFT) is an open access, online-only journal aiming to be a scholarly forum for aesthetics of children's literature, analogue and digital media, verbal and visual expressions of art, and views on art and children. The journal aims to develop cross-disciplinary discussions on children’s literature with regard to media, aesthetics, interaction with other art forms, and its institutional conditions and reception. Barnelitterært forskningstidsskrift / Nordic Journal of ChildLit Aesthetics (BLFT) has its roots in the research network ”The artistic value of children’s literature” which investigates the conditions that structure the status of children’s literature. The short-term goal is to professionally address the role of children’s literature in the literary and visual development of contemporary culture, while also contributing to a review and analysis of the central premises for developing and evaluating art for children. The long-term goal is to maintain an ongoing academic and public discourse focused on the artistic field of children’s literature. Analytic and empirical articles on a wide array of topics, as well as articles related specifically to research programmes and projects are welcome. We also accept scholarly reviews, doctoral dissertations and debate pieces. Language options: Articles may be submitted in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and English and will be published in either of those languages. Abstract and key words always in English and Norwegian. Re-publication in other languages: It is possible to translate articles (unless for commercial use) for publication in other fora, but neither the editor nor the publisher accepts responsibility for the quality of the final translation. The original source must always be given credit.
