Sustainable Horizons is a quarterly, multidisciplinary, and international peer-reviewed golden open-access journal. It publishes novel original research, reviews, and perspectives examining science, technologies, policies, and strategies that can contribute to a sustainable future for humankind and the planet. The journal strives to integrate interdisciplinary research and communicate key findings to policymakers and the public. Sustainable Horizons aligns its vision with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. It covers, but is not limited to, the following Research Areas: Sustainable Environment Global Environmental Change (SDG13) Environmental and Sustainability Assessment (SDG14 & 15) Sustainable and Green Chemistry (SDG14 & 15) Sustainable Technology Sustainable Water and Sanitation Technology (SDG 6) Affordable and Clean Energy Technology (SDG 7) Innovative Technology for Sustainable Development (SDG 9) Sustainable Management Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11) Sustainable Production and Consumption (SDG 12) Corporate Innovations and Social Responsibility (SDG 9) Education for Sustainable Development (SDG 4) Governance, Legislation, and Policy for sustainability (SDG 16&17) Promote Equality and Gender Equality (SDG1,2,5 & SDG10) Sustainable Health Public Health and Impact Assessment (SDG 3) Occupational Safety and Health (SDG 8) Environmental Toxicology, Health and Risk Assessment (SDG14 & 15) Type of papers Research Articles report original research that has significant findings in sustainability. Articles may be up to 5000 words excluding references, with up to 50 references and 4-6 figures or tables. Reviews synthesize recent developments in sustainability and provide recommendations for future research and direction. They may be up to 7000 words, including 100 references and 4-6 figures or tables. Perspectives discuss exciting findings reported recently in sustainability and examined interdisciplinary implications. They may be up to 1000 words plus 1 figure. Perspectives are by invitation only. We welcome inquiries regarding potential submissions. Comments analyze exciting or important discussions on original research papers or other peer-reviewed material published in Sustainable Horizons. They are published online only. News and Views inform the general public about new scientific advances. These pieces are by commission only.
