The methodology is usually derived from the areas of biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, biotechnology and taxonomy. Papers reporting work on bacteria, fungi, microalgae, and bacteriophages are welcome. The journal addresses researchers from both, academia and industry, working in microbiology, biotechnology or ecology.
