Biomaterials and Biosystems is an interdisciplinary open access journal that publishes work at the nexus of engineering, chemistry, biology and medicine. The Journal covers the full spectrum of research, technology development and clinical translation of the biomedical engineering discipline. Progress Report: An authoritative mini review (no more than 6,000 words) with a maximum of 4 display items (figures and tables), which will provide a critical view / perspective of the subject in hand of the last 10 years. Authors should clearly demonstrate in their cover letter their relevant expertise in the topic of the manuscript. Review: An authoritative and educational in nature review (no more than 12,000 words) with a maximum of 8 display items (figures and tables), which will provide a comprehensive literature review of the subject in hand. Authors should clearly demonstrate in their cover letter their relevant expertise in the topic of the manuscript. Leading Opinion: Invited opinionated papers about established and emerging research topics, as well as relevant ethical, legal and societal issues. Leading Opinion manuscripts have strict limit of 2 authors, 100 words abstract, 1,500 words main text, 1 level headings, 10 references and 1 elegant and descriptive figure.
