To encourage and reward publication in the Journal, the author of the chosen article will receive 10 free copies of the issue in which their article was published as well as a €400 voucher for Brill|Nijhoff books. The winner of the bi-annual prize will be chosen by the Editorial Board of the Journal. All authors who have had an article published in the Journal over the previous two years will be considered. It is with great pleasure that the Editorial Board announces that the winners of the Biannual Prize 2024 are Jan-Jaap Oerlemans and Dave van Toor for their article “Legal Aspects of the EncroChat Operation: A Human Rights Perspective,” published in the 2022 (3-4) issue of the Journal. Oerlemans and van Toor's article stands out for its numerous qualities, making it a significant contribution to the Journal's legal discourse and scholarly research in European criminal justice.
